Law enforcement and corrections are separate exams written from separate academy curricula. Choose yours and the quiz, study guide and timed exam show only its areas. One purchase covers both.

Law Enforcement (FLEA) Police officers and deputies, and out-of-state, federal or military officers through Equivalency of Training. 19 curriculum areas. Corrections (CMS) State prison and county jail officers. 11 curriculum areas, three of them shared with law enforcement.

Built for this exam, explained in plain English

Every practice question is written in-house and modeled after the 19 Law Enforcement and 11 Corrections SOCE content areas. Each question includes a clear, plain-English explanation to help you understand the material — not just memorize the answer.

Your three months start the day you buy. Most candidates sit the SOCE within weeks of the academy, so 3-Month Access covers it. Lifetime has no clock — worth it if your exam date is far off or you are coming in through Equivalency of Training.

FAQ

Common questions

The 3-month plan gives you 90 days. If you expect to sit the exam inside that window, it is the cheaper option. If you might need longer — or a second attempt — Lifetime is $89 once. A 3-month plan can be upgraded to Lifetime at any time for $69, so starting with 3 months and upgrading later comes to $118. Lifetime also includes future question updates, which matter when the exam blueprint or the statutes behind it change.
The State Officer Certification Examination is the state exam everyone must pass to be certified as a law enforcement, correctional or correctional probation officer in Florida. It is administered by FDLE through Pearson VUE, after the candidate completes basic recruit training or is granted an exemption from it.
The law enforcement and corrections exams each have 200 questions in three hours. 190 are scored and 10 are unscored field-test questions you cannot tell apart. You need 152 of the 190 scored questions correct — 80 percent.
Three. Under s. 943.1397, F.S., an applicant may not take the exam more than three times unless they re-enroll in and complete the basic recruit training program again.
FDLE lists the fee as $100 per attempt, paid when you register with Pearson VUE; a test site may add its own fee. By statute the fee is not refunded if you fail or do not show up.
No. They are original practice questions written from Florida statutes, rules and the public outline of the curriculum. FDLE writes the exam from the basic recruit curriculum and does not publish its questions.
Yes — that is who it helps most. Equivalency of Training candidates skip the Florida academy but must pass the same SOCE within one year of their exemption, and Florida law is the part they have not studied. Every law question here cites the Florida statute it rests on.
